Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber announced that National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has decided to contribute EGP 10 million in an immediate response to the Cairo Governorate's call for civil society to take part in tree-planting work and in implementing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's "Greening Cairo" initiative, boosting efforts to expand tree planting and increase green spaces in the capital.
The Cairo governor praised NBE's contribution, stressing that it is one of the country's long-established national banks and has made numerous contributions to development work carried out in the capital.
The governor directed the executive authorities to step up tree planting and to use vacant and unused land for planting trees, with continuous follow-up of irrigation and maintenance to preserve the plantings and ensure their sustainable benefit.
