1. Acceptance of these terms

These terms govern your use of the Banky website (bankygate.com), the Banky mobile apps and every service offered through them (together, the "Services"). The Services are operated by BankyGate LLC («موقع بنكي (ذ.م.م)»), licensed by the Supreme Council for Media Regulation in the Arab Republic of Egypt, with its head office on South 90th Street, New Cairo, next to the American University in Cairo ("Banky", "we" or "us").

The Banky apps are published in the stores by developers working on the company's behalf: Sync EG on Google Play and MTDM on the App Store. The company is the provider of the Services and is responsible for them and for users' data.

By using the Services or creating an account, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. What Banky is

Banky is an independent media and information platform. It publishes banking and economic news, compares banking products (certificates, deposits, savings accounts, loans, credit and debit cards, and e-wallets), shows currency and gold rates, and offers financial calculators and card offers.

  • Banky is not a bank or a financial institution. It is not licensed by the Central Bank of Egypt, and it does not take deposits or grant financing.

  • We do not give financial, investment or credit advice. Everything we show is general guidance. It is not a recommendation of any product and not a binding offer.

  • Whether an application is accepted, and on what terms, is decided by the bank alone under its own policies.

3. Accuracy of information

Disclaimer: Banky strives to keep its information accurate and up to date, yet rates, yields, fees and product terms may differ from what you find at the bank or provider when applying, and may change at any time without notice. All products are presented without warranty; the bank's official terms and conditions always prevail — check with the bank directly before any financial decision.

Calculator results are estimates based on the figures you enter and the rate published at the time. They are not a commitment by Banky or by any bank to pay any amount. Currency and gold rates are indicative, not transaction rates.

If you spot something wrong, tell us through the contact page and we will review it.

4. Your account

  • Some Services need an account, such as saving products, alerts, the financial profile, product requests and comments.

  • You must have full legal capacity under Egyptian law, or use the Services with the consent of your parent or guardian.

  • You agree to give accurate information and keep it current, and to keep your password and sign-in method secure. You are responsible for all activity on your account.

  • If you sign in with Google or Apple, your use of those services is also subject to their terms.

  • Tell us straight away if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.

5. Financial profile and product matching

The financial profile is optional. We use what you enter (such as income and financial goal) to show you the products that fit you best. Matching is an automated estimate based on the published product conditions. It is not a credit approval and does not guarantee that any bank will accept you. You can edit or delete your profile at any time in your account settings.

6. Product requests ("Apply now")

When you send a request for a product, you agree that the request details may be passed to the bank concerned, or used by our team to contact you and connect you with the bank. Banky is not a party to any contract between you and the bank, and does not guarantee that a request will be accepted or how quickly the bank will respond. Any contract is made directly with the bank, on the bank's terms.

7. Content you post

The Services let you post comments, questions and reviews. You are responsible for what you post, and it must not contain:

  • Account or card numbers, national ID numbers, passwords, or personal data about you or anyone else.

  • Abuse, defamation, incitement or discrimination, or false claims about a bank or a person.

  • Advertising, promotional links or repeated messages, or impersonation of a bank, an employee or another person.

  • Anything that breaks Egyptian law or infringes someone else's intellectual property.

Posts may be reviewed before they appear, and we automatically hide phone numbers and contact details in comments. We may edit, reject or remove any post that breaks these terms.

By posting content, you give Banky a free, non-exclusive licence to display, publish and format it within the Services and in promoting them. You keep ownership of your content.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Collect content, rates or data by automated means (scraping), or republish them commercially, without our written permission.

  • Try to break into, disrupt or overload the Services, or get around any security measure or usage limit.

  • Reverse-engineer the apps or APIs, except where the law allows it.

  • Use the Services for any fraudulent or unlawful purpose.

9. Advertising and commercial relationships

The Services show advertising, and Banky may receive compensation from some banks or partners when you apply for a product through our links. This can affect where some offers appear. It does not affect our editorial ratings or our journalism. Advertising is clearly marked as such.

10. External links

The Services may link to bank websites or other third parties. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or policies. Your use of them is subject to their own terms.

11. Intellectual property

All Banky content, including articles, analysis, designs, tables, calculators, and the Banky name and logo, is owned by or licensed to Banky. You may quote short extracts for non-commercial purposes if you credit Banky and link to the original page. Any other use needs our written permission.

Trademarks: Bank names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners and appear on Banky for identification and comparison only, implying no sponsorship, partnership or endorsement unless explicitly stated. Images are for illustration only.

12. Notifications

If you turn on notifications or alerts, we will send you updates about the products, offers and news you chose. You can turn them off at any time in your account settings or your device settings. We may still send messages that are necessary for your account and its security.

13. Disclaimer and no compensation

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without any guarantee that they will be error-free or uninterrupted. Banky is not responsible for any compensation and accepts no liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from:

  • A financial decision you made based on the Services or on calculator results.

  • A change in a product's yield, fees or terms, or a bank declining your application.

  • Any dealings between you and a bank or other third party.

  • Interruptions, delays or loss of data caused by events outside our reasonable control.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you make your financial decisions at your own risk, and that you have no right to claim any compensation from Banky for them.

14. Your responsibility to Banky

You agree to compensate Banky for any claim or damage arising from your breach of these terms, from content you posted, or from your unlawful use of the Services.

15. Suspending and deleting accounts

We may suspend, restrict or close your account if you break these terms or use the Services in a way that harms us or other users.

You can delete your account at any time in your account settings or on the account deletion page. Deletion takes effect after 7 days, and you can cancel the request during that time. The account deletion page and the Privacy Policy explain what is deleted, what is kept, and for how long.

16. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use and protect it, and your rights over it. It forms part of these terms.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time and will post the new version on this page with its update date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the Services or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Services after a change takes effect, you accept it.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Egyptian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the Services. If any provision is found invalid, the rest remain in force. If the Arabic and English versions differ, the Arabic version prevails.
