National Bank of Egypt (NBE) offers a range of distinctive savings products, most notably the floating-rate Platinum certificate, which is linked to the corridor rate set by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE). The certificate pays 0.50% above the CBE's deposit rate, and the minimum to buy one starts at EGP 1,000.

On Thursday, October 29, 2026, the CBE's Monetary Policy Committee decided to raise key interest rates by 100 basis points, or 1%, in light of economic developments, unfavorable external conditions and rising uncertainty. Under the decision, the overnight deposit rate rose to 20% and the overnight lending rate to 21%, while the CBE's main operation rate and the credit and discount rate both rose to 20.5%.
