Following the recommendations of the Egypt Forum 2026 announced by the Prime Minister, the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has issued executive instructions to fixed internet service providers to double the capacity of the basic EGP 150 subscription package to 100 GB from 50 GB, while keeping the subscription price unchanged. The service will launch on 1 November 2026.

The move is part of the President's directives to the government to provide citizens with sufficient alternatives that make telecom services easier to access, in order to expand citizens' use of digital government services and support digital transformation.

Last May, the authority launched a new 50 GB home internet package priced at EGP 150, the cheapest on the market, aimed at low-usage customers as part of efforts to support digital inclusion and broaden the user base.

Eng. Mohamed Shamroukh, Executive President of the NTRA, expressed pride in taking part in the launch of this national initiative, saying that "directing the companies to offer this package embodies the authority's role as the sector's regulator and the facilitator of its services." He explained that the initiative "aims to enable families to access high-quality telecom services at an affordable cost, supporting their integration into the digital society and improving their quality of life."

In line with its regulatory role, the authority will continue to monitor the initiative's implementation by service providers to ensure the new package reaches beneficiaries according to the highest standards of quality and efficiency, reinforcing its role in steering sector policy and ensuring national initiatives are carried out.
