HDB's vision for promoting financial inclusion
HDB places financial inclusion among its strategic priorities, based on its belief that banking services are one of the core pillars of sustainable development and economic empowerment.
The bank's efforts are not limited to providing bank accounts; they extend to enabling all segments of society, including young people, women, people with disabilities, owners of small and micro enterprises, and the most vulnerable groups across Egypt's governorates, to access safe and affordable financial services that meet their daily needs and future aspirations.
These efforts are in line with the state's direction and the CBE's guidance aimed at bringing more citizens into the formal banking system and promoting a culture of saving and dealing with banks.
3 main pillars of the bank's financial inclusion strategy
HDB's strategy for promoting financial inclusion rests on three main pillars:
1- Financial education and awareness
The bank takes part in financial inclusion events and runs awareness campaigns aimed at raising financial literacy among people who do not deal with banks, with a focus on young people, women, people with disabilities and residents of rural areas, helping them make sound financial decisions.
2- Innovation and digital transformation
The bank is developing its digital channels, including e-wallets, internet banking services and mobile apps, to make banking transactions safe and flexible and to reduce reliance on cash.
3- Offering accessible banking products
The bank designs banking products and accounts that suit the needs of individuals, owners of economic activities and companies, while simplifying procedures and reducing paperwork and administrative fees, making it easier for all groups to access banking services.
