Ghada Tawfik, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) for Corporate Social Responsibility, said awareness is an important first step in protecting women's health and that early detection of breast cancer can make a real difference to the course of treatment and the chances of recovery. She stressed the importance of encouraging women to look after their health and not to postpone screening.
She explained that the "Your Health Is a Trust" initiative, run by the CBE's Corporate Social Responsibility sector, stems from a belief in the importance of women's health and a commitment to having the awareness message start from within the institution, by offering awareness activities and early screening to the bank's female employees.
She added that the bank held the initiative's events in cooperation with Baheya Hospital for the second year in a row, underscoring its commitment to sustaining breast cancer awareness efforts and encouraging female employees to take practical steps to check on their health.
Tawfik said repeating the initiative reflects the importance of continuing to spread awareness and turning attention to women's health into an ongoing practice. She called on every woman to make her health a priority and not to postpone screening, as early detection can bring new hope on the journey of treatment and recovery.
