The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) securities listing committee approved the listing of shares from Suez Canal Bank's increase in issued and paid-in capital from EGP 10 billion to EGP 15 billion, an increase of EGP 5 billion. The increase is funded from the shareholders' share of profit distributions according to the financial statements for the fiscal year ended 31 December 2025.
An EGX disclosure dated 28 October 2026 said the increase involves issuing 500 million shares at a par value of EGP 10 per share, at a ratio of 0.5 bonus share for each original share, as part of the nineteenth issue in the Egyptian securities listing schedule ("Shares").
The exchange set Wednesday, 11 November 2026, as the last trading session in which buyers of the stock are entitled to the bonus distribution of half a free share for each original share.
The listing committee decided to enter the bank's shares after the bonus increase into the exchange's database, with the stock's reference price set from the start of trading on Thursday, 12 November 2026, bringing the number of shares to 1.5 billion.
In a related move, the listing committee imposed a financial penalty of EGP 10,000 on Suez Canal Bank for violating Article 48 of the EGX rules for the listing and delisting of securities, giving it 15 days to pay from the date it is notified of the decision.
The committee also imposed a further financial penalty of EGP 10,000 on the bank for violating Article 26 of the EGX rules for the listing and delisting of securities and Article 26 of their executive procedures, again giving it 15 days to pay from the date it is notified of the listing committee's decision.
