The headline urban consumer price index, announced yesterday by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), recorded a monthly change of 1.3% in September 2026, compared with 1.8% in September 2025 and 0.1% in August 2026.

On an annual basis, headline urban inflation stood at 13.9% in September 2026, down from 14.5% in August 2026.

The core consumer price index, compiled by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), recorded a monthly change of 0.8% in September 2026, compared with 1.5% in September 2025 and 0.3% in August 2026.

On an annual basis, core inflation stood at 14.1% in September 2026, down from 14.9% in August 2026.
