The Central Bank of Egypt's monthly statistical bulletin shows that total credit facilities extended by banks (excluding the CBE) to the services sector rose to EGP 1.538 trillion at the end of May 2026, compared with EGP 1.34 trillion at the end of December 2025, an increase of EGP 196.915 billion, or growth of 14.67%.

Local-currency credit facilities to the services sector rose by EGP 184.557 billion, from EGP 1.126 trillion at the end of December 2025 to EGP 1.31 trillion at the end of May 2026, while foreign-currency credit facilities to the sector stood at the equivalent of EGP 228.061 billion at the end of May 2026.

The data also showed total credit facilities extended by banks (excluding the CBE) rose to EGP 11.564 trillion at the end of May 2026, compared with EGP 10.377 trillion at the end of December 2025, an increase of EGP 1.19 trillion, or growth of 11.44%.
