The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that net international reserves rose to about USD 57.35 billion at the end of September 2026, continuing to post high levels of foreign reserves.
According to CBE data, net foreign reserves rose during September, reflecting a continued improvement in foreign-currency liquidity in Egypt's banking sector. They reached about USD 57.35 billion at the end of September 2026, compared with USD 57.214 billion at the end of August 2026.
Egypt's foreign reserves grew by 11.5% in the first 9 months of 2026, an increase of USD 5.9 billion.
Net foreign reserves are one of the key indicators of the Egyptian economy's ability to meet its external obligations. They also help support stability in the foreign exchange market, cover the country's needs for goods and services, and repay external obligations.
