The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has decided to close all banks operating in Egypt on Thursday, October 8, 2026, to mark the anniversary of Armed Forces Day on October 6.

The holiday covers all banks operating in the Egyptian market, and banks will resume work and receive customers as normal from Sunday morning, October 11, 2026, according to official working hours.

The bank closure is part of the official holiday marking the Armed Forces Day anniversary, while digital and electronic banking services will remain available to customers during the holiday according to each bank's arrangements.
