Reserve money (M0) at the Central Bank rose to about EGP 2.51 trillion at the end of August, against about EGP 2.42 trillion at the end of December 2025.

Central Bank data also showed currency issued outside the Central Bank's vaults rising to EGP 1.754 trillion at the end of August, against EGP 1.550 trillion at the end of December 2025.

The Egyptian banking sector's net foreign assets reached USD 31.2 billion at the end of August 2026, their highest level since January 2020, according to Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) data.
