Someone called and said they were from the bank... how can I be sure?

Don't try to verify his identity using the information he has about you; the scammer may have your name or some of your personal details.

Steps

1. Hang up and call the bank yourself using the number on the back of your card or the official website/app.

2. Do not enter any number the caller gives you.

The Central Bank confirms that banks do not request customer data updates via random calls or messages, and that confidential banking information is not shared over the phone.
