QNB Egypt has been included in the "TAB Global 1000" ranking of the world's 1000 strongest banks for 2026, which assesses the financial strength of banking institutions against a set of criteria including capital strength, profitability, asset quality and liquidity.
The assessment results show the bank achieving the maximum score of 10 points on capital adequacy, return on assets, operating efficiency as measured by the cost-to-income ratio, and provision coverage of non-performing loans, as well as 9 points on loan growth. These scores are assessments under the ranking methodology, not the bank's actual financial ratios.
The ranking evaluates the world's 1000 largest banks and banking institutions by assets, then ranks them by balance-sheet strength using 15 financial and sovereign factors spread across seven main pillars: sovereign risk, size, balance-sheet growth, risk level, profitability, asset quality and liquidity.
The 2026 edition is based on financial results for fiscal year 2025, including institutions whose fiscal years ended up to March 2026, provided their results were published by 31 August 2026. This framework allows banks' performance to be compared on the basis of the latest annual results available within the assessment period.
This year, the methodology added sovereign risk as a seventh assessment pillar, reflecting the impact of the sovereign environment on banks' financial strength. Loan and deposit growth is also adjusted for inflation in each market, to measure real growth and improve comparability between banking institutions.
The "TAB Global 1000" ranking provides a multi-dimensional assessment of banks' financial strength, combining their ability to generate profits with capital strength, asset quality, funding sources and liquidity, offering a broader reading of their financial position and their ability to withstand changes in the business environment.
