Banky has tracked the highest semi-annual interest on savings accounts at banks operating in Egypt's banking sector, ahead of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) meeting to decide interest rates on deposits and lending. The report lists the top-paying savings accounts that offer an annual interest rate paid out semi-annually, with minimums starting at EGP 1,000 to open an account, exclusive benefits and competitive interest rates of up to 17.5% a year.

1- Safwa savings account from The United Bank

  • Minimum to open the account and earn interest: EGP 500,000

  • Interest rate of up to 17.5% a year

  • Payout frequency: semi-annual

2- Golden savings account from Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt

  • Minimum to open the account: EGP 5,000

  • Minimum balance to earn interest: EGP 100,000.

3- E-Golden Saving account from Arab African International Bank
