The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has announced that it has no objection to increasing the proportion of Banque du Caire shares offered for sale in the private and public offering tranches from 30% to 45% of the bank's total issued share capital, according to a supplementary disclosure the bank sent to the Egyptian Exchange.
The disclosure, dated 22 October 2026, said the bank had signed separate agreements with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), as well as with its main shareholder Banque Misr, to participate independently in the private offering tranche, with stakes of up to 15.74% each of the first private offering tranche.
The bank said the number of shares allocated to each of the two institutions will be determined by the final offering price and on the basis of the private offering order book, in accordance with the agreements concluded in this regard.
The disclosure stated that the agreements do not include any voting arrangements between the EBRD, the IFC and Banque du Caire's main shareholder.
