Saudi Awwal Bank (SAB) posted net profit of SAR 2.17 billion in the third quarter of 2026, up 1% from about SAR 2.14 billion in the same period last year, supported by growth in operating income and net special commission income.
The bank's results showed total operating income rising 5.3% year on year to SAR 3.84 billion, while net special commission income increased 6%, helped by lower special commission expenses.
Higher provisions for expected credit losses, however, limited profit growth. Net profit fell 7.1% quarter on quarter from about SAR 2.3 billion in the second quarter of 2026, hit by higher expected credit loss provisions and operating expenses.
In the first nine months of 2026, Saudi Awwal Bank's net profit rose 2.8% to SAR 6.6 billion, compared with about SAR 6.4 billion in the same period last year.
Total operating income also rose 1.1% to SAR 11.12 billion for January to September 2026.
On the balance sheet, the loans and advances portfolio grew 11% year on year to SAR 325.2 billion, while customer deposits rose 3.3% to SAR 325.4 billion.
By contrast, net provisions for expected credit losses rose 21.4% in the first nine months of the year to SAR 534 million, compared with about SAR 440 million in the same period of 2025.
