The Saudi National Bank (SNB) posted net profit of SAR 6.45 billion in the third quarter of 2026, down a slight 0.3% from about SAR 6.47 billion in the same period last year.
The bank said the decline was due to higher operating expenses and expected credit loss provisions. Operating expenses before credit loss provisions rose 9% year on year to SAR 2.7 billion.
Net provisions for expected credit losses also rose 39.6% compared with the third quarter of last year, weighing on the bank's net profit for the period.
By contrast, total operating income rose 2.2% year on year to SAR 10.37 billion in the third quarter of 2026.
Net special commission income from financing climbed 5% to SAR 7.62 billion compared with the same period of the previous year.
