Omar El Husseiny, Group Chief Executive of Financial Markets at Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB), said that listening to employees and exchanging ideas with them is a cornerstone of effective leadership, deepening understanding, building trust and helping the team move forward together.

He made the remarks in a post on his LinkedIn account after a breakfast meeting with a diverse group of the bank's employees. He said he came away excited and optimistic about CIB's future, noting that the meeting was a chance to hear different perspectives and connect directly with the people who make the bank stand out day after day.

El Husseiny said what stood out most was his colleagues' openness, confidence and eagerness to voice their opinions, ask questions and share their ideas. A workplace where employees feel comfortable expressing themselves, and know their voices are heard and make a difference, creates greater opportunities to benefit from their insights and experience, he said.

He stressed that communicating with and listening to staff is more than a nice-to-have extra: it is a core part of leadership, because it strengthens trust and fosters understanding within the organization.

El Husseiny said Commercial International Bank will keep growing, evolving and pushing boundaries while holding on to its one-family spirit, which he described as an integral part of its identity and one of the main strengths behind its success. He thanked those who took part in the meeting for their openness, ideas and positive energy.
