Several Google Cloud services in London suffered technical disruptions on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, coinciding with an outage of most services at British digital bank Revolut, including card payments and ATM cash withdrawals.
A person familiar with the matter told Reuters that the Revolut outage was linked to the Google Cloud disruption. The bank's service status page showed most of its services as unavailable or only partially working.
In a post on its X account, Revolut confirmed that customers' money and data were safe despite the disruption affecting a number of its services.
According to Google's service status page, the company's engineering team was investigating the issue affecting its "europe-west2" data center in London. The company did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for further details.
Separately, customers of "ING Germany" had trouble logging into the bank's online banking services and app because of a technical fault, with no confirmed link to the Google Cloud outage.
