The Commercial International Bank (CIB) Egypt Foundation and the Raai Misr Development Foundation celebrated the signing of the fourth phase of the "Healthy Children" project, worth EGP 80.84 million provided by the CIB Foundation. The funding will complete the fourth phase of the project, supporting the operating costs of 800 medical convoys across various specialities to examine 720,000 underprivileged children in 21 governorates.
The ceremony was held at Koubba Palace in the presence of Ambassador Nabila Makram, head of the technical secretariat of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work; Dr. Laila Iskander, former Minister of Environment; Ayman Abdel Mawgoud, permanent undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity; a number of leading artists, public figures and members of the National Alliance; and senior leaders of the CIB Foundation and the Raai Misr Development Foundation, along with a select group of public figures and artists.
Support for the "Healthy Children" project is part of the national "Initiative for Egypt" that CIB is implementing nationwide across all villages and centres of the presidential "Haya Karima" (Decent Life) initiative. It aims to support Egyptian children's physical and mental health and raise cultural awareness to build the nation's youth and its near future, in line with the goals of Egypt's national strategy for the Sustainable Development Goals under Egypt Vision 2030.
Attending from the CIB Egypt Foundation were Amr El Ganainy, Deputy CEO and Executive Board Member of Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) and Vice Chairman of the CIB Foundation's Board of Trustees; Nadia Hosny, Secretary-General of the CIB Foundation's Board of Trustees; Mona Hosny, Director of the CIB Foundation; Irini Safwat, Senior Programme Planner at the CIB Foundation; and Alaa Maher, Programme Planner at the CIB Foundation.
Amr El Ganainy affirmed the CIB Foundation's belief that real investment in the future of any society begins with investing in its children, and that children's timely access to the healthcare they need, whatever their circumstances or location, is not a luxury but a fundamental right and an opportunity for a better start and future. "This is why strategic partnerships with long-established institutions such as the Raai Misr Development Foundation matter," he said.
Counsellor Amir Ramzy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Raai Misr Development Foundation, said the joint role played by the CIB Foundation represents an inspiring milestone in the model of institutional cooperation to serve the community. Integrated health services have been provided to millions of children through the "Healthy Children" project, an integrated national strategy for treating underprivileged children across all governorates in more than 5,000 villages and hamlets.
