Fitch Ratings on Thursday affirmed Egypt's rating at "B" with a stable outlook.
The affirmation reflects the agency's continued view of the Egyptian economy's ability to cope with fiscal and economic challenges in light of developments in public finances and the macroeconomy.
Fitch's decision is part of the periodic reviews that rating agencies carry out to assess countries' creditworthiness and to track developments in economic and financial indicators and their ability to meet their obligations.
In its latest trade and investment report, Fitch said Egypt's economic position in the second half of 2026 is much stronger than in 2023 and 2024, supported by faster economic growth, inflation easing from the peaks recorded in 2023 and stronger external reserves.
Fitch had noted that the Egyptian economy has shown resilience despite the fallout from the regional conflict, benefiting from exchange-rate flexibility, fuel-price reforms and a number of fiscal consolidation measures.
Fitch said Egypt's economic policy direction is gradually shifting towards supporting private-sector-led manufacturing, increasing exports and attracting more domestic and foreign investment.
It expects measures to support exporters, lower certification costs and improve market access, together with stronger trade ties with China and the development of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, to support export and investment growth in the coming period.
