Al Rayan Bank has signed a cooperation agreement with Edaa, becoming the first bank in Qatar to let its customers apply for a National Investor Number and update their shareholder data with Edaa directly through the bank, via a dedicated electronic system.

The agreement allows Al Rayan Bank's existing and new customers to submit applications through the bank without having to file them separately with Edaa, simplifying procedures and making it easier to access services related to investing in the Qatari financial market.

Obtaining a National Investor Number is the first step for anyone wishing to invest in securities listed on the Qatari market, which makes the cooperation important in easing the start of customers' investment journey.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim Al Thani, CEO of Edaa, said the cooperation with Al Rayan Bank supports the company's efforts to make issuing the National Investor Number easier and more secure, and to make market services available to investors through partners' digital channels, reducing the need to visit service centers in person.

He noted that the agreement is a step toward improving access to capital market services and broadening the investor base, supporting market growth and development by facilitating participation and access to related services.

For his part, Omar Al-Emadi, Acting Group CEO and Group Chief Operations and Administration Officer at Al Rayan Bank, said the partnership reflects the bank's commitment to simplifying the customer experience and providing direct digital access to Edaa's National Investor Number services, meeting customers' financial and investment needs.

He added that integrating the service into the bank's digital banking ecosystem will make it easier for customers to participate in the Qatari capital market and provide a more flexible and efficient experience, and said the bank looks forward to continuing its cooperation with Edaa to support the development of the financial ecosystem and digital transformation in the State of Qatar.
