Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting today to review the latest progress in preparing the National Economic Transformation Programme, attended by Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Dr. Ahmed Rostom, and a number of officials from both ministries.

The Prime Minister reiterated that today's meeting is part of an ongoing series of meetings to follow the latest progress in preparing the programme, with the aim of arriving at an integrated economic vision and framework that reflects the state's economic priorities in the coming period, achieves greater consistency between fiscal and monetary policy, meets citizens' needs, raises living standards and strengthens the Egyptian economy's ability to achieve sustainable growth. This is in preparation for presenting the final version of the programme to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, followed by its launch and implementation.

The Prime Minister noted that the programme aims to further strengthen the private sector's role across economic activities, create a suitable environment for investment and the business community, and provide more support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship.

He stressed that the ultimate goal of the National Economic Transformation Programme is to build a more productive and competitive economy, driven by more capable and empowered citizens, allowing people to benefit more directly from the gains of development.

The meeting covered the targeted economic and development sectors on which the programme relies to achieve a range of social and economic indicators on the way to its sustainable growth targets, as well as the measures and steps it includes to maximise the economic return on the assets and infrastructure the country has in those sectors.

The review also covered the current state of services provided to citizens in health, education and housing, efforts to strengthen social protection, and the programme's targets through 2030, in pursuit of further social and human development goals, higher living standards and more efficient services across a number of vital sectors.
