Banky's view:
CIB's dominance of 64% of the total credit card portfolio of banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange at the end of the first quarter of 2026 reflects its strong position in the Egyptian banking market and its ability to keep expanding its retail banking and consumer credit services.
The bank's hold on nearly two-thirds of the listed market is driven by a broad customer base and a diverse range of credit card programs, along with expanded financing offers and installment services that make its products more attractive to customers.
The 7.4% growth in the bank's credit card portfolio during the first quarter, outpacing the sector's 6.8%, also reflects the success of its strategy to increase card usage and promote greater reliance on electronic payments. This supports revenue growth from non-traditional activities and strengthens the bank's profitability in the coming periods.
