Arab African International Bank (AAIB) participated in a discussion with startup founders from Cycle 27 of AUC Venture Lab’s Startup Accelerator at the American University in Cairo. The session explored financing opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and ways to build effective relationships between entrepreneurs and banking institutions.

Held as part of the bank’s role as a corporate co-founder of AUC Venture Lab, the session centred on a key question: “What does a bank look for when working with a startup?” The discussion helped entrepreneurs understand financial institutions’ perspectives and the factors they consider when assessing potential collaborations.

The AAIB team shared insights into SME financing, the mindset of financial institutions and how to engage with them. They also offered guidance on developing stronger relationships with the banking sector.

The discussion allowed participants to benefit from the team’s banking expertise and connect financial knowledge with practical applications, helping them better understand financing options and engage more confidently with financial institutions.

AUC Venture Lab expressed its appreciation to the AAIB team for their continued support and for dedicating their time to guiding entrepreneurs and strengthening their financial knowledge through shared expertise and practical mentoring.
