Mohamed Bedeir, Chief Executive Officer and board member of QNB Egypt and a board member of the Federation of Egyptian Banks, has a banking career that began in 1991 and spans about 35 years to 2026. His experience covers corporate banking, retail banking, treasury, trade finance, risk management and asset-liability management, the fields that shaped his professional background before he took the helm of the bank on 15 September 2021.
A Career Spanning Treasury, Risk Management and Executive Leadership
Bedeir began his career at Misr International Bank in 1991, moving through several of its departments until he became head of asset-liability management in 2002. In 2005, he moved to National Société Générale Bank – Cairo as head of asset-liability management, before joining Bank Audi – Egypt in early 2007, where he headed market risk and asset-liability management and later served as Deputy Managing Director and Executive Board Member.
He continued to rise at Bank Audi – Egypt, becoming Managing Director and CEO, before moving to QNB Egypt in September 2021. This career gave him exposure to a wide range of portfolios, combining financial resource management, risk and banking business development.
Leading QNB Egypt and Continuing Executive Responsibility
Mohamed Bedeir became Chief Executive Officer and board member of QNB Egypt on 15 September 2021, leading the bank through a period of business expansion and the development of its services and delivery channels.
In February 2025, the bank's board was elected and formed for a new three-year term starting 20 February 2025, with Bedeir remaining CEO and continuing to oversee the execution of the bank's strategy and the management of its business during the new term.
Business Growth and Assets Crossing EGP 1 Trillion
Under his leadership, QNB Egypt has continued to grow its financial position and core portfolios. In the first half of 2026, the bank posted consolidated net profit of EGP 18.6 billion, up 23% on the same period of 2025, while standalone profit reached EGP 17.8 billion, up 20%.

Digital Transformation and a Better Banking Experience
Bedeir's tenure saw the launch of QNB bebasata in February 2023, offering a digital-first banking experience that includes internet banking, a mobile app and a customer solutions center. The launch was part of the bank's drive to support financial inclusion and broaden the use of electronic banking services.
At the end of June 2026, the bank's network comprised 240 branches and 899 active ATMs, combining geographic reach with the development of electronic service channels.

The facility covers up to 50% of the credit risk on this financing, helping to widen companies' access to finance.
In July 2025, the bank launched the National SME Champions Program in partnership with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and the EBRD to support entrepreneurs and companies, particularly those in productive and export sectors. Bedeir attended the launch of the program, which combines financial support with capacity building for businesses.
