I hold US dollars: what dollar savings products do Egyptian banks offer?

عندي مدخرات بالدولار ومش عارف أحطها فين.

Many banks in Egypt offer US-dollar savings accounts, time deposits and certificates, and returns are paid in the product's own currency, that is, in dollars. The same logic as pound products applies: a savings account allows withdrawals at any time and its return is computed on a balance basis the bank sets, while deposits and certificates are locked for a term and breaking them costs according to the product's terms. Rates, minimums, terms and payout frequencies of dollar products differ from those of pound products, so compare dollar products with one another at the same amount, term and payout. Some products also restrict who may buy them, for example by nationality or residence abroad, and the bank confirms that. Whether to convert is a currency decision that is yours, and a savings-comparison site is not the place for an exchange-rate forecast or currency advice. Check the dollar product's key-facts statement for the minimum to open, the payout currency of the return, the fees and the break terms.
