Many products change their rate by amount band, and the rate is ultimately one cell set by three things: the amount band, the term and the payout schedule.
The point many people miss: the band is determined within the payout schedule you choose. The band table for monthly payout can differ in its limits and rates from the table for annual payout, and an amount can cross a band limit under one payout and not under another.
Also check how the band applies: to the whole amount, or only to the part above the limit; that is written in the product's terms.
If you are thinking of adding money to enter a higher band, compare the two figures at the same term and payout, and note that they are on two different amounts, so the difference between them does not all come from the rate.
