جزء محتاجه بعد سنة، وجزء عايزه يفضل شغال كذا سنة.

When one sum serves two goals on different dates, each part takes the term that fits its date: the part you need in a year is locked for a year, and the long part for its own term. Each part is priced on its own, at its amount, term and payout schedule. Adding the two parts' returns into one figure misleads, because it adds one year's return to several years' return: the short part comes back early and is spent on its goal, so the combined figure will never be in your hands on any day. Also, any figure for the short part after it matures is unknown, because if it renews automatically the rate follows the product's terms at renewal. The clearer way is to see the two parts side by side: for each part its amount, its term, and when the return reaches you (during the term, at the end, or upfront). Adding up only makes sense between parts with exactly the same term. Ask the bank about the short product's auto-renewal terms and how to cancel them, and check them in the key-facts statement.
