إزاي أفهم النسبة المكتوبة في إعلان شهادة أو وديعة عائدها بيتصرف كل شهر.

No. The advertised rate on any certificate or deposit is an annual rate whatever the payout frequency, which is what the key-facts statement banks issue for savings products requires. The payout frequency (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, yearly, at maturity) decides when the return reaches you, not how large it is over a year.

Example at a hypothetical 20% a year: every 100 pounds earns 20 pounds a year. With monthly payout those 20 are split into 12 payments, so you receive about 1.67 pounds a month per 100 pounds, not 20 pounds a month.

Note that the return is computed on the amount actually placed, which depends on the certificate's minimum and its multiples, and that a product's grid can price each payout frequency at a slightly different rate, so the exact figure for a product comes from its own terms.

Before you place money, check the product's key-facts statement for the annual rate, the payout frequency, the minimum and its multiples, and the day the return starts accruing, or ask the bank for a worked example at your amount.
