Are AAOIFI standards legally binding on banks in Egypt?

It is not appropriate to present AAOIFI standards as "Egyptian banking law" without explicit Egyptian documentation.

AAOIFI itself publishes a list of countries and entities that adopt its standards to varying degrees, and Egypt is not currently included in the list of adopted countries on its official website.

Therefore, my bank uses AAOIFI as a strong legal and technical reference, while the obligation within Egypt is established by the Central Bank of Egypt, the law, the bank's contract, and its approved governance policy.
