  • Accumulated interest is provided at certificate maturity.
  • Each Certificate yields an accumulated interest which is fixed throughout its term as per the rate prevailing on the certificate issuance date. Interest is calculated as of the next business day following the purchase date.
  • The certificates and the returns they generate are exempt from all taxes and stamp duties.

Cons

  • Relatively low interest rates

Our take

If you are seeking the highest possible return or monthly income to help cover living expenses, the "Category A" certificate is not the right choice for you. In this case, it is preferable to opt for 3-year Platinum certificates or "Category B" certificates, which offer periodic returns (monthly or quarterly) and significantly higher interest rates exceeding 17%.

The National Bank of Egypt’s Group (A) Investment Certificate is a unique savings option.
