Net Foreign Assets at the Central Bank Rise to USD 11.78 Billion by End of October 2025
Net foreign assets (NFAs) at the Central Bank of Egypt increased from USD 11.08 billion at the end of September 2025 to approximately USD 11.78 billion by the end of October 2025, marking a rise of USD 700 million.
This upward movement reflects a continued improving trend aligned with stronger external indicators recorded over recent months, supporting the banking sector’s capacity to meet rising foreign-currency obligations.
According to a report issued by the Central Bank, currency in circulation outside its vaults reached EGP 1.550 trillion by the end of October 2025, compared with EGP 1.529 trillion at the end of September. Meanwhile, banks’ local-currency deposits held at the Central Bank increased to EGP 889.424 billion, up from EGP 739.158 billion at the end of September 2025.
