Central Bank: Household Credit Facilities Surpass EGP 1.303 Trillion by the End of June 2025
The statistical bulletin issued by the Central Bank of Egypt revealed an increase in the total credit facilities granted by banks — excluding the central bank — to the household sector, reaching EGP 1.303 trillion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 1.153 trillion at the end of December 2024. This represents an increase of EGP 149.892 billion and a growth rate of 13%.
Credit facilities granted to the household sector in local currency rose to EGP 1.274 trillion by the end of June 2025, while those in foreign currency increased to the equivalent of EGP 28.398 billion during the same period.
Furthermore, total bank credit facilities to clients grew to EGP 9.322 trillion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 8.375 trillion at the end of December 2024, marking an increase of EGP 946.648 billion and a growth rate of 11.3%.
