Central Bank: Household Sector Deposits in Local Currency Rise to EGP 918.259 Billion by End of September 2025
Data released by the Central Bank of Egypt revealed an increase in household sector deposits denominated in local currency, reaching EGP 918.259 billion by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 642.666 billion at the end of December 2024. This represents a growth rate of 42.88%, equivalent to an increase of EGP 275.593 billion.
Meanwhile, total bank deposits in local currency rose to EGP 9.16 trillion by the end of September 2025, up from EGP 7.56 trillion at the end of 2024, reflecting a 21.3% growth rate and an increase of EGP 1.61 trillion.
Additionally, time deposits and savings certificates in local currency increased by 18.1%, reaching EGP 6.94 trillion by the end of September 2025, compared to EGP 5.87 trillion at the end of 2024.
