Google Cloud Outage in London Disrupts Revolut Card Payments and ATM Withdrawals
Several Google Cloud services in London experienced technical disruptions on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, coinciding with an outage affecting most services at British digital bank Revolut, including card payments and ATM withdrawals.
A person familiar with the matter told Reuters that Revolut’s outage was linked to the Google Cloud disruption. The bank’s status page showed that most services were unavailable or partially unavailable.
Revolut confirmed in a post on X that customers’ money and data remained safe despite the disruption.
Google said its engineering team was investigating the issue affecting its London-based europe-west2 data center. The company did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for further details.
Separately, ING Germany reported technical problems preventing customers from logging into its online banking services and mobile app. No link to the Google Cloud outage was confirmed.
