In a new step that reinforces the leadership of the Qatari banking sector in adopting advanced digital solutions, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has announced the launch of the “Click to Pay” service in collaboration with Mastercard, becoming the first bank in Qatar to offer this innovative solution to Mastercard cardholders. This initiative aligns with QIB’s digital transformation strategy aimed at providing customers with a faster, more secure, and seamless online payment experience.
Service Details
The “Click to Pay” service enables QIB’s Mastercard cardholders to shop online quickly and securely without having to manually enter their card details each time. Customers can easily activate the service through the QIB Mobile App or via participating online merchants.
Once activated, customers can use their email address or mobile number as a unique identifier to complete online payments, benefiting from biometric authentication that eliminates the need to enter passwords or card details for every transaction.
Security and Innovation
The service is powered by tokenization technology, which replaces sensitive financial data with encrypted tokens to ensure the confidentiality of user information. This makes every online payment highly secure across connected devices. Customers can also enable or disable the service at any time through the QIB Mobile App. Dr. Anand, General Manager of the Personal Banking Group at QIB, stated that the launch of “Click to Pay” marks another milestone in the bank’s digital transformation journey, reflecting its commitment to providing innovative, secure, and convenient banking solutions for its customers.
