Rami Aboulnaga Receives in Washington Global Finance Award Granted to Hassan Abdalla Among the World’s Best Central Bank Governors for 2025
Hassan Abdalla, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), has been recognized by Global Finance magazine as one of the World’s Best Central Bank Governors for 2025, in appreciation of his leadership in supporting Egypt’s economic stability and implementing effective monetary policies over the past period.
The award was received on his behalf by Rami Aboulnaga, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, during a special ceremony held in Washington, D.C., on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings, attended by prominent international financial leaders and central bank governors from around the world.
The recognition comes as part of Global Finance’s annual report, titled “Central Banker Report Cards 2025,” which evaluates the performance of over 100 central bank governors worldwide based on criteria including inflation control, currency stability, economic growth support, and policy independence.
The report featured a list of governors who achieved the highest performance ratings globally, with Hassan Abdalla earning a place among this distinguished group — reflecting the success of the Central Bank of Egypt’s monetary policies in recent years amid global economic challenges, and its ongoing efforts to maintain financial and monetary stability while enhancing the resilience of Egypt’s economy.
This honor stands as another international testament to the achievements of the Central Bank of Egypt, reaffirming the confidence of global institutions and investors in the competence of Egypt’s monetary management and its ability to preserve macroeconomic stability while advancing the country’s ongoing financial and monetary reforms.
