Quarterfinals Wrap Up at the CIB Egyptian Squash Open 2025 with Egyptian Stars Leading the Way


The quarterfinal stage of the CIB Egyptian Squash Open 2025 came to a close today on the glass court in front of the Giza Pyramids, in an atmosphere charged with excitement and intensity.

Peru’s Diego Elias, the World No.2, continued his strong run after overcoming England’s Jonah Bryant, the World No.28, with a straight-games victory of (3-0): 11-5, 11-8, 11-2 in just 38 minutes to book his spot in the semifinals.
France’s Victor Crouin, the World No.11, also impressed with a strong performance against Egypt’s Fares Dessouky, the World No.15, winning (3-0): 11-3, 12-10, 11-7 in 43 minutes to complete the list of semifinalists and reaffirm his presence on the international stage.
On the women’s side, the matches delivered major surprises. Egypt’s Fayrouz Abouelkheir, the World No.11, stunned her compatriot Nour El Sherbini, the World No.2, in a thrilling five-game battle. After 64 minutes of intense play, Abouelkheir emerged victorious with a (3–2) win (11-8, 8-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-5), securing her place in the semifinals and marking one of the most significant moments of her career.
Last but not least, Egyptian Amina Orfi, the World No.4, also secured her place in the semifinals after overcoming Malaysia’s Sivasangari Subramaniam, the World No.7. Orfi claimed the match (3–1), winning 11-6, 11-8, 4-11, 11-9 in 62 minutes, further underlining the continued dominance of Egyptian talent on the global stage.
