Goldman Sachs Appoints Seven New Partners to Its Management Committee
Goldman Sachs Group has appointed seven new partners to its senior Management Committee, expanding the bank’s top decision-making body to 46 members, in a move that underscores a major shift toward strengthening its wealth and asset management business.
Among the promotions are James Reynolds and Vivek Bantwal, who serve as global co-heads of private credit within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, according to an internal memo reviewed by Bloomberg.
John Mallory and Nishi Somaiya have also joined the committee and will assume roles as global co-heads of the bank’s Wealth Management division. They replace Tucker York, who was recently appointed Global Head of Wealth Management and remains a member of the Management Committee.
Bloomberg reported that these appointments further increase representation from Goldman Sachs’ Wealth and Asset Management businesses within the firm’s most senior decision-making group. The committee has expanded significantly following a series of senior executive promotions earlier last year.
Goldman Sachs is intensifying efforts to grow its Asset Management division, which oversees approximately $3.6 trillion in assets, spanning private equity, private credit, and public investing strategies.
Additional appointees to the Management Committee include Michael Brandmeier, Global Head and Chief Investment Officer of the External Investing Group; Kristin Olson, Global Head of Wealth Alternatives; and Gregory Calnon, Global Co-Head of Public Investing.
These changes bring the total number of Management Committee members to 46 and slightly increase female representation from 22% to 24%.
Chief Executive Officer David Solomon stated that the firm still has significant work to do to advance gender diversity across the organization. Notably, in November last year, Goldman Sachs promoted the lowest proportion of women to Managing Director roles since Solomon became CEO in 2018.
